Irish and British Post Honors World Cup Hero Charlton

One week after the European Cup acquittal for Manchester City, starting coach Pep Guardiola has once again criticised the way other clubs deal with the Citizens.

FC Arsenal, which ManCity had beaten in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, had “great respect”, Guardiola said according to “BBC”. But only for what they are in the field.

Off the pitch, however, he had “not much” left for the Gunners. According to the British media, the Londoners have allied themselves with seven other clubs in order to put pressure on the International Sports Court Cas against the Citizens before the verdict.

On 13 July, the sports judges lifted the sanction imposed by the European Football Union, which, in addition to the European Cup exclusion for two seasons, also provided for a fine of EUR 30 million. All that remained was a penalty payment of EUR 10 million. The Cas stated that the alleged violations of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules were not sufficiently proven or time-barred. A detailed explanation of the judgment is still awaited.
