Premier League: Solskjaer: I'm still the right one for you

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to see himself as the right team manager for record English football champion Manchester United, despite the recent negative series.

“Of course, but it is not for me to decide. I believe in my team and myself and I am ready to take up this challenge,” Solskjaer said before the derby against Manchester City on Wednesday (9pm live on DAZN) in response to a corresponding question.

Solskjaer, who took over from Jose Mourinho last December, has lost six of the most recent eight matches with the Red Devils. “It’s my job to improve the performance of the players,” said the Norwegian, whose contract runs until 2022.

After an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at Everton FC on Easter Sunday, the 46-year-old expects to make amends in the derby that will decide the title between City and Jürgen Klopps FC Liverpool. “This game is just in time for us. I’m sure we’ll see a good reaction,” he said. The sixth-placed United are still looking to qualify for the Champions League.
