According to information from SOCCERSCORE and Goal, Youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi may remain with Chelsea FC – and this could be ensured by assigning him the jersey number 10 he wants. There are no talks yet about extending the contract, but the player can imagine staying in London under certain circumstances.
The 18-year-old’s desire to leave the club and move to FC Bayern Munich has cooled somewhat in recent weeks, after Hudson-Odoi was rewarded with a number of starter finals under coach Maurizio Sarri before suffering a serious injury to the Achilles tendon.
After his surgery in Spain, Hudson-Odoi is now back in London, where his future is soon to be clarified. Talks on extending the contract are still pending, but the probable departure of Eden Hazard from Real Madrid will free up an important position in the squad that Hudson-Odoi could take in the future.
Similar to the German record champion, Chelsea could also move the wing racer to extra time with the desired number 10, which will be released by the hazard exit. Hudson-Odoi – apart from Christian Pulisic – does not have to fear any new competition in the squad due to Chelsea’s transfer ban.
Manchester United are also showing interest in Hudson-Odoi, although a commitment for the Red Devils is likely to be even more difficult than for Bayern Munich given the competitive situation in the Premier League. Hudson-Odoi still has all the options, but Chelsea is currently in a good position.
