In the summer of 2018, the star striker extended his contract, which runs until 2022, by a further two years until 2024. Kane has been playing for the Spurs since his youth. Previously, the 25-year-old was repeatedly associated with a change to other top European clubs.

The early renewal of the contract was made attractive to Kane with a significant salary increase. According to information from the Mirror, the attacker collects 200,000 pounds per week (227,000 euros). This doubled the salary compared to the previous contract.

Harry Kane played a strong 2018/19 season before he suffered a severe ligament injury in his ankle at the beginning of April and has been out of action ever since. For the Champions League final against FC Liverpool, Kane should be ready just in time, as he himself confirms: “There are no problems so far. For me, it’s about getting as fit as possible.”

Coach Mauricio Pochettino also emphasizes how important Kane is for the team’s success: “His attitude is excellent. We are very pleased with the progress he is making. He’s world class.”

Kane had already scored 14 goals after the Premier League preliminary round, but was thwarted by a torn ligament in January. Only three goals in the league were added afterwards.

FC Liverpool won the two league games of the past season 2-1. In the dramatic Anfield Road return at the end of March, the Reds won in injury time with an own goal from Toby Alderweireld.
