Gary Neville has harshly criticised Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku and was delighted with his imminent move to Inter Milan. The former Red Devil accused the Belgian of lacking professionalism.
On Twitter Neville wrote about Lukaku: “He admitted that he was overweight. He weighs over 100 kilograms!” Nevertheless, the 44-year-old believes the attacker will have a successful time at Inter. “He will shoot at Inter Tore and do well, but his unprofessionalism is contagious,” Neville continued.
After long negotiations, the change from Lukaku to Inter is nearing completion. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the 26-year-old was already received frenetically in Milan. The Nerazzurri are to replace the left foot with 80 million euros.
It was not until 2017 that Lukaku came to Manchester from Everton FC for almost 85 million euros and has since scored a total of 42 goals in 96 Red Devils’ appearances. In spite of his good quota, the attacker was questioned again and again by United.
At the beginning of the transfer period Lukaku expressed his wish to change. As a consequence, the Antwerp native kept fit at his youth club RSC Anderlecht and did not participate in the preparation of the team of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The departure hurts the Nordengländer. So far no adequate replacement for Lukaku could be engaged. With Pablo Dybala of Juventus the transfer of a possible Lukaku successor burst last.
