Fix! Haller for record sales to England

Premier League: Fix! Haller for record sales to England

As expected, Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt loses its next offensive top performer. French striker Sebastien Haller is leaving the Europa League semi-finalists to move to England’s West Ham United after successfully completing a medical check.

This was announced by both clubs on Wednesday. The redemption is to amount to 50 million euros. The Hammers spoke of their “most expensive transfer in the history of the club”.

Eintracht had already given its 25-year-old top scorer permission on Tuesday to join the Londoners. West Ham sold the Austrian national striker Marko Arnautovic to the Chinese champion Shanghai SIPG for around 25 million euros a week ago.

“Of course, the departure of a player from his sporting format is a loss for us. But Sebastien has always been open and fair with his ambitions. And for us, of course, there are economic pain thresholds,” said Eintracht sports director Fredi Bobic.

After Luka Jovic, the storm jewel, had already switched to Real Madrid for 70 million euros, Frankfurt’s “magic triangle” would have been reduced to vice world champion Ante Rebic. The 25-year-old Croatian is, however, also fond of a change, the most likely being a transfer to Inter Milan.

Haller had scored 15 goals for Frankfurt last season and prepared nine more. When he was missing at the end of the season due to an abdominal muscle injury, Eintracht immediately lost his punch.
