Champions League winner FC Liverpool has signed Dutch top talent Sepp van den Berg. The 17-year-old is moving from PEC Zwolle in the Dutch Eredivisie to the Reds and signing a long-term contract with team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team. Both clubs made no statements about the transfer modalities.

“Jürgen Klopp is a great person and a reason why the club is so successful. And it is also a reason why I came here,” said the Dutch U19 national player.

Recently van den Berg had also been associated with a change to the German champion Bayern München.

In March 2018, at the age of 16 and just under three months, van den Berg made his debut as the fifth youngest player in history in the top Dutch league. The central defender completed a total of 21 matches in the Eredivisie for Zwolle.

At the same time, Liverpool provided young players Abdi Sharif with a professional contract. The 18-year-old has been playing for the Reds since the age of six and was already in the U23 last season.
