Ex-U21-Keeper Radlinger to England

Soccer International: Ex-U21-Keeper Radlinger to England

Goalkeeper Simon Sahin-Radlinger has joined England’s second-league promoted Barnsley FC. The 26-year-old switched free of charge from Hannover 96 to the island and gets a contract for the coming season.

Sahin-Radlinger had been under contract with Hannover 96 since 2011, whereby the German club awarded the Upper Austrian to Rapid, Nuremberg or Brann Bergen.

“It’s always nice to get to know different countries and their cultures. I am very happy to be in England now and to play for Barnsley,” Sahin-Radlinger said in a broadcast.

Last season he was Hanover’s substitute goalkeeper and is now available free of charge. Barnsley made the leap into the second-class League Championship only this year. The coach is the German Daniel Stendel, who previously worked for Hannover.

“We are delighted to announce our fifth new addition. Samuel has a long history of working with Daniel and has a great deal of experience with his high press system,” said Paul Conway, Vice Chairman of the Reds.
