Midfielder David Silva has announced his departure from English champions Manchester City after the coming season. “This is the last one,” the 33-year-old told the Daily Mail. “Ten years is enough for me. This is the perfect time.”
“It ends the cycle and is a beautiful round number. I’ll never play with another team against City,” said Silva, who switched from FC Valencia to Cityzens in 2010.
His priorities have changed, he added: “I have a family with whom I want to spend more time.”
Where he is after time is not yet clear, but some wishes the midfielder has: “Not China. I would like to end my career in Las Palmas but football is changing. Who knows?”
