According to information from SOCCERSCORE and Goal, English champions Manchester City will be making a final attempt in the coming days to extend their contract with winger Leroy Sane and thus block Bayern Munich’s interest.
Sane’s current contract runs until 2021, but the Citizens have been trying for more than a year to retain the German national player for the long term. However, talks about an extension have so far failed.
Meanwhile, Bavaria’s president Uli Hoeneß and board boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed Bavaria’s interest in Sane. Sport Director Hasan Salihamidzic is now to sound out the chances of a possible deal in England this summer.
If Sane does not extend his contract in Manchester, City would probably be willing to give up the 23-year-old – but only after a redemption of 100 million euros. A sum that Hoeneß had ruled out after winning the championship a week ago.
