Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa League semi-final opponent FC Chelsea has suffered a setback in the Premier League fight for the Champions League ranks. Ten days before the European Cup guest appearance on the Main (2 May), the Blues replaced FC Arsenal from fourth place with a 2:2 (2:2) win over relegation candidate FC Burnley.
Chelsea have been level on points with third-placed Champions League semi-finalist Tottenham Hotspur, one point ahead of the Gunners, but also one more game.
Without Antonio Rüdiger, who was missing due to a knee injury, the Londoners found it difficult to get into the game at first and fell behind early on.
Chelsea then turned the match around quickly with goals from N’Golo Kante (12th) and Gonzalo Higuain (14th) before Burnley scored the equaliser in the middle of the first half, leaving Chelsea without a win in the second game in a row.
