Former national footballer Mesut Özil and former Schalker Sead Kolasinac will be at FC Arsenal’s disposal again for the home match against FC Burnley on Saturday (1.30 pm in LIVE-TICKER). This was confirmed by team manager Unai Emery on Thursday.
For security reasons, London’s top club had eliminated the two former Bundesliga players from their squad for the Premier League opening game last Sunday at Newcastle United (1-0).
Özil and Kolasinac are mentally “100 percent” ready to return, Emery said, both players have already resumed training with the team.
Three weeks ago Özil and Kolasinac had been victims of an armed robbery in London. A surveillance video showed how the two football stars were attacked with knives by two motorcyclists. Kolasinac had faced the attackers with his bare hands and the two Gunner players were able to flee by car.
Last Thursday, London police arrested two men near Özil’s residence and filed charges. According to media reports, they had quarreled with security guards at Özil’s house. The two 27-year-olds are due to stand trial on September 6.
