After the restart of the Premier League, the online giant Amazon will broadcast its outstanding games into English living rooms for free. Unlike before, Amazon Prime Video will no longer require a subscription to watch the remaining four games, instead the matches will be shown in a freely accessible format for everyone. This was announced by the company on Wednesday.
Amazon had secured a sub-license in 2018 when it was awarded the rights to English football and has since been allowed to broadcast exclusively some of the matches of the national elite league. Most recently, the online giant also acquired its first sub-licenses in the German Bundesliga.
Other rights holders had also previously given English fans hope for matches on free TV. Pay-TV channel Sky Sports probably wants to show 25 of its 64 outstanding matches on its free-TV channel, and the BBC will also broadcast four matches on free TV.
