Leroy Sané has already been out of action since August 2019 due to a torn cruciate ligament. Now the 23-year-old is about to return to ManCity team training.
Around five months after his cruciate ligament rupture, Leroy Sane, who is being courted by Bayern Munich, is about to return to Manchester City team training. Team manager Pep Guardiola confirmed this before the League Cup semi-final against Manchester United (Manchester United – Manchester City, 20:15, LIVETICKER).
“He’s almost ready. I spoke to him two days ago,” the former Bayern coach said of the international, “He’s making good progress with the ball and feels he’s tolerated the strain well.
Guardiola: “His knee looks very good
The 23-year-old has been training individually with the ball again for several days now. Guardiola recently described Sane’s full return to the team as “incredibly good news for him and the team”.
“His knee looks very good, he could return in the next few weeks,” said the City coach.
Sane: Transfer candidate at FC Bayern
Sane sustained the injury in the Community Shield against Liverpool FC at the beginning of August.
The Munich team then put their intensive transfer efforts on ice. Subsequently, however, there had been repeated speculation that the player would be transferred to Bayern in winter.
