FC Liverpool announces new supplier contract

The two partners did not give any exact details about the exact term of the contract, which is said to run for five years from June 1, 2020, with “Nike” equipping the entire club up to the youth teams from the summer. At this time, the Reds will also move to their new training centre in Kirkby – and with ever-increasing probability for the first time since 1990 as English champions.

Reds win lawsuit against “New Balance
At the end of October 2019, the previous supplier “New Balance”, which replaced “Warrior” as supplier in 2015, had moved to the London Commercial Court. The background was an alleged clause that allegedly promised the manufacturer to obtain a new five-year contract if its own offer matched that of its competitor. However, the court followed the Liverpool argumentation – mainly because of Nike world stars such as LeBron James or Rihanna, whose influence could hardly be calculated.

Overall, the “Nike” offer was therefore more lucrative for Liverpool. According to English media reports, the negotiated contract guarantees “only” around 35 million euros per season, but in return it guarantees a share in merchandising sales of a whopping 20 percent as well as other bonuses. Therefore, the club expects total annual revenues of 70 to 80 million euros. “New Balance” is currently said to be paying around 45 million euros per year.
