Europa League: Gala! Schürrle shoots Spartak in EL playoffs

BVB loan Andre Schürrle has reached the playoffs after a strong performance with Spartak Moscow in the European Football League. In the second leg of the third qualifying round, the offensive player scored the final goal of the 2-1 (0-1) draw against Swiss Cup finalists FC Thun (58th).

Stefan Glarner (7th) had brought the Swiss into the lead early, Ezequiel Ponce (52nd) managed to equalise on Schürrle’s presentation.

The Russian record champion had already won the first leg 3-2 a week ago, and the 57-time German international missed a penalty.

In the playoffs on 22 and 29 August, Schürrle and Moscow will meet the winner of the match between Sporting Braga and Bröndby IF.
