The third qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League was drawn and brought interesting lots for the Austrian representatives. The Vienna Austria will face the winner from Shamrock Rovers and Apollon Limassol and Sturm Graz would face the loser from FC Basel and PSV Eindhoven from the Champions League qualifiers. The first leg will take place on 8 August, the second leg on 15 August.
Thus all qualification rounds of the Austrian representatives are drawn. The LASK will face the winner of the Champions League match FC Basel (Switzerland) or PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands). Sturm Graz, on the other hand, has now been drawn to the loser from the same game, if they should pass against FK Haugesund. A very tough draw, which makes it much more difficult to reach the Europa League group stage.
The Viennese, on the other hand, have got it much easier and will face the winner of the match-up Shamrock Rovers FC (Ireland) and Apollon Limassol (Cyprus). Both opponents can hardly be placed above the Austria and thus a progress is quite realistic.
Outward and return matches will be played on August 8th and 15th (one Thursday each). On August 5th the qualification round, the last round before the group phase, will be drawn.
