The Catalans have not yet lost a CL game in the current season. In the group with PSV, Tottenham and Inter, Barca took first place with four wins.

After Barcelona failed to beat Lyon 0-0 in the first leg of the Round of 16, they won the return leg at Camp Nou 5-1. The Spaniards won both quarter-final duels against Manchester United (1-0, 3-0).

The Reds, on the other hand, only just qualified for the knockout phase. In Group C with PSG, Napoli and Roter Stern, Jürgen Klopp’s team lost three games and finished second with 9 points equal to the third from Naples.

Liverpool then eliminated Bayern in the last 16 (0-0 and 3-1) before defeating Porto in the quarter-finals (2-0, 4-1).

The last direct meeting in the Champions League took place more than ten years ago. There were eight matches between Liverpool and Barca, three of which were won by Liverpool. Barca was the winner twice and three games ended in a draw.

After last year’s final at the Kiev Olympic Stadium (2018 season), this year’s CL Final will take place at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid. This is usually the home venue of Atletico Madrid.
