Brazilian superstar Neymar will miss Paris St. Germain next season in the first three group matches of the Champions League. The 27-year-old goalscorer has been suspended by UEFA from three matches in the premier league for referees’ obeisance.
Neymar had blamed the failure on the Slovenian Damir Skomina’s team of referees in an Instagram post following PSG’s elimination from the Champions League Round of 16 against England’s record holders Manchester United (1:3/2:0).
“It’s a disgrace,” Neymar cursed: “There are four people sitting there who have no idea about football, watching slow motion in front of the TV.”
The reason for Neymar’s annoyance was a penalty kick for Manchester, who in the final minute brought the decision for the Red Devils. The 2016 Olympic champion had missed the match due to an injury and watched the match from the stands.
