Austrian runners-up LASK performed the medium-heavy miracle and eliminated FC Basel from the Champions League qualification. After the 2-1 away win in the first leg, the return leg in Linz ended with a thriller in the final and 3-1 for the LASK.
Reinhold Ranftl, who was 1:0 for the Linz team, made sure that the score was 1:0 in minute 59 with an unlucky shot from a sharp angle by Raoul Petretta. Ademi scored the equalizer ten minutes before the final whistle. In the final LASK-Edelzangler Thomas Goiginger scored the 2:1 before Marko Raguz scored the 3:1 in minute 94.
Thus the door to the Champions League is already a considerable gap open for the Upper Austrians.
In the playoff, the LASK will now face Club Brugge – the Belgians won against Dynamo Kiev (1:0, 3:3).
