Halstenberg favours Champions League tournament

Marcel Halstenberg from the German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig hopes for a continuation of the Champions League this season. “It would be funny if the matches were to go into the new season and we had new players in the squad,” the 28-year-old told the “Bild” newspaper.

In addition, you could save yourself ghost games in the big stadiums. “I wouldn’t think a tournament would be a bad idea,” said Halstenberg, who is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with RB.

The six-time national team player also has high goals in the national championship: “We still have seven games left and we all want to win them. Then we’ll settle up at the end.”
