Zorc: Idol? “As relaxed as ever”

Vice champion Borussia Dortmund will negotiate an early contract extension with Mario Götze in August.

“At the beginning of the new season, we will sit down together,” Sport Director Michael Zorc told Sportbild. The 56-year-old is confident that he will be able to reach an agreement with Götze and his team of advisers.

We have known for years the rumours from England that “spill over to us”, says Zorc. “As always, we are relaxed. Because we are in a good exchange with Mario’s father and his advisor,” said Zorc. Götze’s contract with BVB runs until 2020.

Götze (26), hero of Rio 2014, was most recently associated with the English Europa League finalist FC Arsenal. Zorc reiterated that Götze had not approached the club with a desire to change.
