Bundesliga: BVB promotes its super talent Moukouko

Borussia Dortmund will transfer its top talent Youssoufa Moukoko to the U19 next season. Meanwhile, an extension with Mario Götze is being sought. Sebastian Rode hopes for a quick recovery. Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.

Borussia Dortmund will transfer Youssoufa Moukoko to the club’s own U19 for the coming season. There, the 14-year-old will have to stand up to much older opponents and thus continue to develop adequately. “Youssoufa has now reached the age at which he may play in the U19. We consider this age group to be the right vintage for him”, Lars Ricken arranged opposite the picture.

Next year’s opponents could be up to four years older than the striker. “That’s his performance,” said Ricken. Moukoko had hardly any problems in the U17 to win against his older opponents. He has scored 46 goals in the 18/19 season so far.

Nevertheless, Ricken remains cautious: “Youssoufa is a very successful goal scorer, but that is by no means a guarantee that he will also become a professional.” But the signs were good: “He is very inquisitive, hungry for success, diligent and always comes to the court with a smile. That’s what sets him apart, that’s what we’re looking at.”

Borussia Dortmund wants to extend Mario Götze’s contract, which expires in 2020, soon. Sport Director Michael Zorc stated this in the SportBild: “We will sit down together at the beginning of the new season”. The serenity has a good reason: “We are in a good exchange with Mario’s father and his advisor.”

Despite the rumours that FC Arsenal were interested, Götze did not express a wish to change: “We have known for years the rumours from England that spill over to us.” Zorc sees good cards for the BVB in talks with Götze: “I believe that we have always dealt fairly with Mario – especially during his difficult time.”

According to SportBild, the negotiations will include a three- or four-year contract. Currently, Götze probably earns around ten million euros annually at Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund’s Sebastian Rode can apparently hope for a faster recovery. “His injury is not as serious as initially thought,” said Eintracht Frankfurt’s supervisory board boss Wolfgang Steubing to the kicker. In three instead of five months Rode could be fit again.

In the jersey of the Borussia Rode will not run up however probably any more. He will officially return from his loan to Eintracht Frankfurt on 1 July, but will then be transferred to his ex-club according to current status. “Sebastian is now at Dortmund again, but we are interested in taking him under our wing,” said Steubing.

A final decision on the transfer will not be made for several weeks, according to Ruhr news. Then it would be easier to predict how Rode’s knee survived another injury. In four to six weeks the midfielder wants to intensify his training and has to wait and see how his body reacts.
