Emil Forsberg’s consultant Hasan Cetinkaya has accused RB Leipzig of not keeping a promise made in the summer of 2018. The Red Bulls would sell to their clients, but not for a fair market price.
“Emil, of course, is disappointed. He has a chance to take the next step. And now the people who made promises to him last year are not keeping them,” Cetinkaya told the picture. There he had already initiated a change some time ago.
This would probably also be feasible in principle, but according to the consultant Leipzig suddenly proclaims 35 to 40 million euros as a replacement. Cetinkaya described such a sum as “madness” and accused: “There have always been good and trusting talks with Frank Aehlig or Ralf Rangnick. But now I had a feeling of chaos.”
In the summer of 2018 Aehlig and Rangnick had promised him that Forsberg could go for a “reasonable replacement” next summer if the contract was not extended. The Red Bulls do not want to extend the working paper until 2022.
RB Leipzig itself does not want to express itself. Sports Director Markus Krösche kept a low profile: “We continue not to comment on contract details – everything that is relevant to us is contractually fixed.
