Axel Witsel has welcomed the return of Mats Hummels to Borussia Dortmund. The Belgian continues to have great respect for FC Bayern Munich. There’s a wild rumor coming out of Mexico. Here you can find all news and rumours about the BVB.
Axel Witsel of Borussia Dortmund sees the commitment of Mats Hummels as an important step. “It’s like, as far as I can tell, he never left. He’s a leader. And we could really use another of this kind,” the Belgian kicker arranged the return of the defender.
Hummels immediately had an “influence in training and tests” from the beginning. Not least in Standards, the former international is a weapon: “We haven’t had so many of this kind so far – if I only think back to our game in Munich, when Mats alone had four or five good chances per head.
The fact that Hummels is now another player with a claim to leadership on the pitch is no problem for Witsel: “I think it’s good. The more leaders, the better. It’s easy for me to stand on the court with him. He’s technically very good. I can play him in any situation.”
Axel Witsel wants to attack the championship with Borussia Dortmund, but still has great respect for FC Bayern Munich. “For the Bavarians, it’s routine to play titles. They handled it in a correspondingly relaxed manner. On the other hand, we will have to change our approach to printing,” he told the kicker.
Witsel doesn’t take the fact that FC Bayern has been rather cautious on the transfer market very seriously: “Believe me, they will hire new players. Anything else would surprise me. It won’t get any easier.”
The BVB has to “play at a top level” all the time and needs the necessary courage: “Otherwise you don’t have to try it in the first place. I think we’re stronger than last year. But we’re going to have to prove that in the championship.” Witsel also sees RB Leipzig in the race: “They are definitely a very strong team, one of the best in the league”.
Borussia Dortmund is apparently interested in Jose Macias from Club Leon. That’s what Record reports. The 19-year-old striker is currently on loan from Guadalajara and proves himself in the MX League. A transfer could be correspondingly complicated.
According to the report, Club Leon and BVB want to work together towards a commitment to talent. For this purpose, around 13.5 million euros were due. Both clubs would contribute around seven million euros to secure 50 percent of each club’s transfer rights.
Afterwards, Macias will be tested in Dortmund for his suitability for the Bundesliga. If he is considered ready by those responsible, Club Leon will be paid out. If it is not ready yet, BVB Macias would probably leave it in Mexico and wait for its further development.
