Axel Witsel from Borussia Dortmund has created another mainstay alongside football. The Belgian is also active as a winemaker and sells his wine to a friend’s restaurant.

As the picture reports, Witsel has already produced around 600 bottles of his wine. Parcellaire 28 is therefore grown in central France. The vines, which are already over 100 years old, are expected to produce more and more in the coming years. For 2020 there are probably already 1800 bottles planned.

Currently the wine is offered in the restaurant of his friend Marc Carnevale in Liège. There a bottle costs about 24 euros.

“I discovered wine when I was 20, when my dad first took me to my friend Marc Carnevale in Sabots d’Helene,” Witsel told the Belgian newspaper La Meuse. The 30-year-old is said to have worked intensively with the winery over the past three years and is now setting up a small business accordingly.

Witsel has also been active in the fashion business for some time now. His brand “AW” mainly produces caps there.
