AC Milan has apparently submitted a contract offer to defender Ozan Kabak of Bundesliga relegator VfB Stuttgart. The Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Rossoneri are now even the favourite for the 19-year-old’s engagement, according to Sky.
After the departure of Mats Hummels to Borussia Dortmund, the Turkish super talent had been traded big at FC Bayern Munich. Kabak is to be had because of a fixed transfer fee for the summer, which is to be 15 million euros.
“There is an exit clause that is on the market,” explained VfB Sports Director Sven Mislintat at Sky. “There’ll be a club that’ll pull them. We don’t believe he could stay with us. You have to be realistic and sober about that.”
Kabak did not switch from Galatasaray to VfB until winter 2019 for eleven million euros, but will leave the club immediately after relegation despite a contract until 2024. In the second half of the season, the central defender scored three goals in 15 Bundesliga matches.
