Will a Real striker come to unity?

Eintracht Frankfurt allegedly wants to sign Mariano Diaz, Real Madrid should buy Luka Jovic. That’s what the Marca reports. At Real, Mariano is going through a difficult season.

Luka Jovic is on the verge of switching to Real Madrid, according to AS. This could lead to a new striker hiring in the Bundesliga: the half Spaniard Mariano could go the other way and try to do a similar development to Jovic at Frankfurt.

According to the report, the sale of Jovic would not depend on a change of Mariano. Jovic is supposed to be sold for 60 million euros, of which twelve million euros will be transferred to his training club Benfica in Lisbon. Mariano’s transfer fee is said to be around 20 million euros. That would cost him only a fraction of Luka Jovic’s sales revenue.

The 25-year-old has a tough time in Madrid this season, with none of the three Blancos coaches (Julen Lopetegui, Santiago Solari, Zinedine Zidane) giving the attacker a proper shot. In this season Mariano was only allowed to play twice from the beginning, altogether he only managed one ligator. In addition, the right foot repeatedly dropped out due to muscular problems.

In the 2017/18 season, the Dominican was sold by Real to Olympique Lyon and subsequently recalled thanks to a buy-back right. After an outstanding season in Ligue 1, he can no longer call up his performances in the royals. In the French league, he scored 18 league goals and four templates, and the centre forward was one of the main reasons why Lyon finished third in the previous season.
