What Arjen Robben says about his future

Arjen Robben of FC Bayern Munich has commented on his future after his victory against Hannover 96 on Saturday. For the Dutchman, several options seem to be possible.

“I haven’t made a decision yet,” Robben explained after the 3-1 victory of the record champion over Hannover 96 on Saturday. He added: “I am very grateful that many clubs have expressed their interest. I also put it a little on the side and said that I wanted to get fit again.”

The 35-year-old, who will leave Bavaria definitively at the end of the season, was back in action against Lower Saxony for the first time after an injury break of five and a half months. “If you can’t do what you love, it’s hard,” he said with regard to the long abstinence. “I love football and I’d like to keep playing, but I don’t want to experience another five months.”

Robben can even imagine staying in Munich and holding a position in the club. When asked whether a sabbatical year with subsequent involvement in the operational business was within the realm of the possible, he said: “Everything is possible”.

The outside player had moved from Real Madrid to Munich in 2009. In total, he has played 306 compulsory games for the FCB so far.
