Bundesliga: Top clubs vie for Dodi Lukebakio

The two Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach as well as the Ligue 1 top clubs Olympique Lyon and OSC Lille are trying to get Düsseldorf attacker Dodi Lukebakio on board. This was reported by the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

FC Watford, who officially lent Lukebakio to Fortuna until 30 June, is demanding 20 million euros for the 21-year-old. Which club from the quartet the latter ultimately chooses depends above all on the regular-place perspective.

Lukebakio himself had recently stressed that he wanted to focus first on the U21 European Championship, where he will play Belgium in the last group match against Italy on Saturday evening (9 p.m.) and will probably be eliminated after the preliminary round. “I am faced with an important decision, my future is at stake. But I don’t want to talk about it at the moment,” he told Sporza.

Lukebakio moved from RSC Charleroi to Watford in early 2018, but did not make it into the Premier League. The English therefore awarded the offensive man to Düsseldorf, where he impressed last season with ten goals and four assists in the Bundesliga.
