With FC Bayern, Hansi Flick has made an unprecedented series in recent months and thus won the triple. Uli Hoeneß has little wonder but words of praise for the coach’s work. The fact that Flick was even allowed to take over the sceptre in the previous year was also due to the honorary president.
As “Bild” revealed, the 68-year-old was “a decisive supporter” of the former Löw assistant after the release of Niko Kovac. Hoeneß would have already “laid the wires” and “passed on the idea to Kovac” when Flick was hired as a co-trainer.
Today, the long-time manager raves about Flick in the highest tones. “Considering that he started as an assistant coach, has now won the Champions League, has not lost a game in this competition, is in the lead in the championship and wins the trophy. There’s a movie by Jack Nicholson,” I can’t get any better. “This applies to Hansi Flick,” Hoeneß emphasized recently in the “tz”interview. “He has convinced not only humanly, family-wise, but also professionally. He taught the team a style of play: everyone for everyone! The players all work for each other. There are no more egoisms. Everyone helps the other. That was and is unique,” Hoeneß said, calling Flick’s work “unique.”
