That’s what the BVB is supposed to have paid for the Schürrle-Aus

Soccer federal league player Borussia Dortmund and Rio world champion André Schürrle will go their separate ways in future. As the BVB announced on Wednesday, both parties agreed to terminate the contract. Schürrle had recently played on loan at the Russian traditional club Spartak Moscow, in Dortmund the 29-year-old would still have had a contract until summer 2021.

“Looking back, it was a time with ups and downs, but also with many valuable experiences both in the sporting and especially in the private sector,” said Schürrle, whose next goal is not yet known: ” I thank the managers of BVB and wish the club and its special fans all the best for the future.”

In 2016, the offensive player had switched from VfL Wolfsburg to black and yellow for 30 million euros, but was unable to meet the high expectations. Therefore, BVB Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke sees the cooperation “definitely not a success story for both sides. For this reason, it was best that we now terminated the contract prematurely,” Watzke said to “Sport1”.
