FC Augsburg started the season preparation with a loose test game victory. Coach Martin Schmidt’s team won 6:0 (3:0) against FC Gundelfingen in Jettingen without any effort. VfL Wolfsburg celebrated its second victory in its second test match.
Newcomers Florian Niederlechner and Ruben Vargas celebrated a successful debut at FCA.
The first compulsory match for the Augsburg team is scheduled for the first round of the DFB Cup on 10 August at the regional league club SC Verl.
VfL Wolfsburg has also successfully passed its second test within the season preparation. The Europa-League participant won against the French Ligue 1 relegator SM Caen 2:1 (1:1), after the wolves had won their first match last Saturday under their new coach Oliver Glasner 2:1 against third-league team Hansa Rostock.
Wout Weghorst and Mamoudou Karamoko met for Wolfsburg. Glasner used professionals in the first half, amateurs and juniors in the second. The next friendly match against VVV Venlo is scheduled for Saturday in Gifhorn.
Glasner will make his debut in the DFB Cup at Hallescher FC on August 12th, before starting in the Bundesliga against FC Cologne a week later.
