Test matches of Bundesliga clubs at a glance

Three weeks before the start of the new Bundesliga season, the team is in the midst of preparation. While RB Leipzig and 1. FC Cologne were able to win the test matches on Friday, FC Augsburg landed on the ground after their brilliant victory over Galatsaray against Villarreal on Thursday.

The Leipziger won in the “old homeland” Markranstädt against the French cup winner Stade Rennes 2:0. The match lasted more than three times 45 minutes. Captain Willi Orban and Yussuf Poulsen scored the goals for the Leipzig team.

Leipzig had played its home games in Markranstädt in the first season after the foundation of the club in 2009/10, after RB had bought the right to start from the then upper league team SSV Markranstädt.

In the DFB Cup, the bulls have to fight at the VfL Osnabrück on August 11th, a week later the Champions-League participant is guesting at the start of the league at Aufsteiger Union Berlin.

FC Augsburg has suffered its first defeat in season preparation at the Austrian training camp. Coach Martin Schmidt’s team lost to FC Villarreal 2-6 one day after a strong 4-1 win over Galatsaray Istanbul in a test match against FC Villarreal on Friday. FCA scored Philipp Max and Maurice Malone, who had been promoted from the U19.

For the first time the Austrian national player Martin Hinteregger, who was courted by Eintracht Frankfurt, was again on the starting line-up of FCA. The central defender was on loan to Frankfurt in the last second half of the season. Negotiations between the two clubs are difficult, however.

The season starts for FCA on August 17th with vice champion Borussia Dortmund, one week before FCA is challenged in the DFB cup at the fourth league team SC Verl.

The 1. FC Cologne has won the fifth victory in the sixth preparatory game. The team of coach Achim Beierlorzer defeated the Italian first division team FC Bologna 3:1 in Kufstein.

The Austrian national team player Florian Kainz, who has a double pack, and youngster Darko Churlinov met for the promoted player, who will meet the Spanish first division team FC Villarreal at his training camp in Kitzbühel on Sunday.

Cologne will make its debut in the DFB Cup on 11 August in the second league for the rising SV Wehen Wiesbaden, a week later the second league champion will compete in the VfL Wolfsburg league.

SC Freiburg has gained a lot of self-confidence at the end of the training camp in Austria. Coach Christian Streich’s team won both matches in a double pack against the Turkish first division team Kayserispor. A 2:0 was followed by a true peat festival at 9:1.

Jonathan Schmid and Nils Petersen scored the goals for the Breisgauer team in the first test. In the second game Brandon Borrello was the most successful Freiburg player with three goals.

The first compulsory match for SC Freiburg is scheduled for August 10th in the DFB Cup at second league relegators 1. FC Magdeburg, the Breisgau team will welcome the FSV Mainz at the start of the league one week later.
