Defender Niklas Süle of FC Bayern Munich has spoken out in favour of coach Niko Kovac remaining after the successfully defended championship.
When asked whether he would like to play under the Croats in the coming season, Süle explained: “Of course. He also knows that Bavaria is something else than Eintracht Frankfurt. There’s so much pressure at the club. It’s not easy to deal with. I think he did very well this year.”
Kovac has been the subject of repeated criticism in recent months. According to information from Goal and SOCCERSCORE, the coach himself must take his hat at the end of the season in the case of the double.
However, Süle does not want the debate about Kovac to be too high. “I noticed the coach was being questioned. That’s all I can say. I think we gave the right answer on the pitch today.”
Süle had celebrated his second championship with the Bavarians on Saturday in his second season. Next weekend the record champion has the chance to win the DFB cup.
Niko Kovac himself, however, expects to continue as Bayern coach.
