Subotic: That’s why BVB is the title favourite

Neven Subotic sees Borussia Dortmund as the title favourite for the coming season. The former BVB defender also commented on Mats Hummels’ change. Here you can find all news and rumours about Borussia Dortmund.

Neven Subotic currently rates BVB’s squad more highly than that of FC Bayern. “If FC Bayern are playing with their current squad, it’s Dortmund,” Subotic told the Bild newspaper in response to the question as to who was their favourite for the title and added: “Quite clearly.

So far, Subotic has rated the BVB transfer summer as positive. Above all, the change of his former partner in central defence, Mats Hummels, will do Borussia good. “He has won four titles with Bayern in the last three years, BVB only one in time. Now Dortmund is bringing Mats’ experience back in. This is a great opportunity for him,” said Subotic.

According to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Niko Kovac and Co., Hummels had fled the competition at FC Bayern, but Subotic questions that. “It’s normal for the club to communicate it that way. Anyone who has been in business for a long time knows that this can also have something to do with the ego,” says Subotic.

In an interview with the club’s own channel fcbayern.tv, Thomas Müller spoke against Subotics’ assessment of the title race. “It will certainly be fun to be at the top of the table,” said Müller confidently.

Müller does not yet want to conclusively evaluate the transfers from Borussia Dortmund. “Dortmund played a great season last year. They’ve been trying to reinforce themselves. You’ll have to see how the new players work,” said the 29-year-old FC Bayern attacker.

Jadon Sancho expressed his gratitude to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola in an interview with Soccerbible. “I still love Pep, I still love everyone in the club because they hired me from Watford and helped me develop into who I am today,” Sancho said.

Nevertheless, the move to BVB was the right choice for him. At the Borussia Sancho wants to top his last season once again. “People are just waiting for me to ease up so they can say I’m a one-hit wonder,” Sancho said. To prevent this from happening, the 19-year-old Englishman wants to “stay on the ball and hope” to be spared injuries.
