Captain Lars Stindl, who has been seriously injured twice recently, can imagine a career end with Borussia Mönchengladbach. “Maybe I can stay here a few more years. Let’s see what the club’s up to. I feel so comfortable in Gladbach and can imagine staying here until the end of my career,” the eleven-time national player told the Sportbuzzer.
Stindl, who has played as a professional in Karlsruhe, Hanover and Gladbach so far, is also not aiming for a move abroad. “I’ve always felt comfortable in the Bundesliga. The atmosphere, the circumstances or even the teams have always appealed to me more and more in Germany. I have never regretted not having tried it abroad,” said the 30-year-old.
Three months after his tibia fracture, Stindl is currently working on his comeback; by 2018 he had missed almost six months due to a syndesmosis fracture. “Last year, it was extreme. I’ve had good luck all my career and only a few injuries. The two serious injuries were not easy to process. But now I’m at a point where the appeal is very great to play in the Bundesliga again soon,” he said.
