SGE-Profi wants to leave: “It doesn’t work like that”

Jetro Willems wants to leave his Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer break. We look around and look for solutions,” he said in a TV program in his home country.

Willems dislikes the fact that he receives only little playing time from Eintracht trainer Adi Hütter and is usually used on the outer position in midfield. “If I want to achieve my goals, for example with the national team, then it’s going to be difficult in a midfield position. I’m not really a midfielder,” said Willems, who was trained as a backfielder at Sparta Rotterdam and attracted attention at PSV Eindhoven.

He does not expect any fundamental change in his situation for the coming season and therefore wants to leave Frankfurt. “I want to take the next step now,” said the 25-year-old. “The way it’s going, it’s not going,” he added disappointedly.

Of his 23 Bundesliga games this season, Willems made only seven from the start.
