SGE and Bayer probably on the way to Serie-A-Knipser

Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen are apparently interested in attacker Andrea Petagna of Italian first division team SPAL Ferrara. This was reported by the local newspaper la Nuova Ferrara.

Petagna is currently loaned by Atalanta Bergamo to SPAL. If the current 13th Serie A standings can secure class retention, Ferrara will have to sign the 23-year-old for the club’s internal record payout of twelve million Euros.

Apparently, the 23-year-old Italian is at the top of the wish list at Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen. As la Nuova Ferrara further writes, Atletico Madrid and Besiktas are also said to have a serious interest in Petagna. The Guardian had previously reported a 20-million offer from Leicester for the goal scorer.

In the current season Petagna has scored 40 per cent of all goals for the Ferrara team so far. He met 14 times in his 32 A-series appearances. In the Italian Cup, the Coppa Italia, the SPAL striker scores one mission and one goal.

The Trieste-born striker began his career as a young talent at AC Milan, where he was in the U19 until 2013.
