Seals: Career end due to injury?

Published on

Bayern Munich’s Arjen Robben probably thinks of a career end due to his persistent injury. Norbert Elgert could well imagine Leroy Sane at the FCB. Callum Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, could stay with Chelsea FC because of Frank Lampard. Here you can find all news and rumours about FC Bayern.

According to Sport Bild, Arjen Robben of FC Bayern Munich is not sure whether he will be able to play another season at professional level. Although the Dutchman is said to have received inquiries from all over the world, he is still waiting for the further development of his injury between pelvis and pubis.

This should continue to cause him pain and raise corresponding question marks. Already in the course of his last contract year with FC Bayern, the injury put seals out of action for many months. It was only towards the end of the season that he was able to intervene again and celebrate his farewell after ten years in Munich.

Offers are said to have reached seals from the top European leagues, among others. England, Spain, Italy, France and the Netherlands could become the target. Somewhat more exotic offers for the 35-year-old probably came from Mexico, Qatar, Australia and China.

Bayern Munich’s interest in Leroy Sane could be crowned with success, according to Norbert Elgert. The U19 coach of FC Schalke 04 coached Sane for a long time in Gelsenkirchen and is regarded as the trusted representative of the national player. “If he made that decision, it wouldn’t be a mistake,” Elgert said in the Sport Bild.

The youth coach could imagine a good relationship between club president Uli Hoeneß and Sane: “I think Uli Hoeneß likes players like Leroy. He always got along with players who weren’t adapted in the positive sense.” Elgert cited examples such as Oliver Kahn, Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

But Sane is by no means a “bad boy”, Elgert reminded: “He is not a conformist, but an individualist, a dribbler with that certain something. He’s an absolute team player, a mature personality, an adult.” The public only sees “the facade” of Sane, a very “down-to-earth boy.”

FC Bayern Munich will probably continue to think about a transfer of Chelsea talent Callum Hudson-Odoi. According to the picture, the player is still interested in changing to the record champion. But the possible engagement of Frank Lampard as coach of the Blues raises questions.

The former Chelsea professional could trust Hudson-Odoi, unlike Maurizio Sarri. At the beginning of 2019, Lampard publicly advised the young winger not to move to the FCB: “I would welcome it if a young English player who has just sniffed into the first team and has unbelievable talent could stay.

So far, the contract, which expires in summer 2020, spoke in favour of a change from Hudson-Odoi. However, with Eden Hazard handed over to Real Madrid, the club’s time on the pitch is likely to be much longer.
