FC Schalke 04 have apparently found their way to AS Monaco in search of a new defence. As the picture reports, U21 Vice European Champion Benjamin Henrichs has moved into the focus of the royal blues.
The 22-year-old can be used flexibly on both outer lanes, whereby FC Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen are also interested in the Schalkern. Henrichs’ contract in the Principality runs until 2023.
The final transfer fee was 35 million euros – an amount that neither Schalke nor Werder would be able to pay. A loan would therefore also be possible, but it is not clear whether Monaco would agree to this scenario.
Henrichs only moved from Bayer Leverkusen to Monaco in the summer of 2018 for 20 million euros, but was unable to assert himself there in his first season.
