Uli Hoeneß has not ruled out that FC Bayern will exceed the 80 million euro mark if a suitable player is found.
Bayern Munich’s president Uli Hoeneß has declared that the 80 million mark he himself proclaimed for transfers is not a stone carved: “Hasan Salihamidzic should first find players who fit in with us. And then we’ll talk about money,” Hoeneß said on the sidelines of the record champion’s double celebrations on Sunday.
Just a few days ago, Hoeneß had announced that FC Bayern had reached its limit with the 80-million-dollar transfer for Lucas Hernandez. You’re not “here at Monopoly, you’re a football club.”
The interest in Manchester City’s attacker Leroy Sane could soften this announcement. FCB CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reiterated his interest in the ex-Schalker: “We still need an external player, we will try to find Leroy Sane. But I can’t make a serious promise today that this will work.”
Leroy Sane is still under contract with City until 2021. Attempts by the citizens to extend it ahead of time have so far failed. In the case of a transfer, the English master wants to demand a redemption of 100 million euros.
