Salafisten in stadium security at Werder?

Published on

At Werder Bremen and SC Paderborn, two security forces apparently worked in the past with contacts to violent Islamists. According to WDR research, the Chechen brothers worked for a Paderborn security company in the stadiums until “recently”.

According to the report, Werder and the SCP have called in the police, and the Bielefeld State Security Service has also been informed.

The brothers had posted photos of themselves in the Bundesliga stadiums on social networks. Other pictures show the family with violent endangered persons, who later went into hiding and left. Islam M., one of the brothers, was sentenced to arrest in 2015 for expressing sympathy for the attack on the Paris satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which killed 13 people.

“In any case, the findings now in the room reveal a security risk. This must not happen like this,” said Michael Mertens, deputy federal chairman of the police union, WDR: “The clubs and the DFL must also react in their own interest. That’s pretty much necessary.”
