FC Bayern Munich hopes that newcomer Lucas Hernandez will be fit for the start of the season. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge leaves the future of Jerome Boateng open. Niklas Süle has no desire for comparisons. Here you can find all news and rumours about the FCB.

FC Bayern Munich, in the person of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, hopes that Lucas Hernandez will be fit for the start of the season. “That would be the ideal”, the chairman of the board is quoted by kicker. However, this is not completely certain: “It is on the way to being completely manufactured. It wasn’t an easy operation.”

Lucas Hernandez did not travel with the team to the USA, but works individually on his comeback in Munich. The Frenchman had not been standing on the court for about half a year after a knee injury had been surgically treated in the 23-year-old. The 80 million new arrivals are to become an important defensive factor.

Meanwhile, Rummenigge has left the future of Jerome Boateng open. The subject is “not yet finalized.” Boateng seemed to be about to say goodbye at the end of the last season, but could now recommend himself with good performances in training and test matches.

After Mats Hummels was handed over to Borussia Dortmund, the defensive staff is a bit thin anyway. Coach Niko Kovac now feels this on the US tour: Boateng left for private reasons, Lucas Hernandez is still injured. According to Rummenigge before the last test match in the USA against AC Milan (Wed., 4 o’clock live on DAZN) this is “not a problem”.

The future of Renato Sanches seems clear, the 21-year-old will remain with the club. “I had a long talk with him in Los Angeles,” Rummenigge said. “When he arrived at the age of 18, he was still a boy – now he is an experienced man, even on the pitch. We’ll have a lot of fun with him.”

Sanches had expressed clear intentions to change, but recently changed his mind after talking to coach Niko Kovac. He will now go into another season with the record champion. One of the many positive aspects of the US tour, as Rummenigge stated: “So far, everything is top.”

Niklas Süle of FC Bayern Munich does not want to fight with Mats Hummels for the title as Germany’s best central defender. The discussion, most recently fired by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and BVB Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke, leaves the FCB giants rather cold.

“This was sent to me by buddies in a WhatsApp group. I don’t put much into it, I don’t participate in such discussions,” Süle said loudly tz. He said he would rather stand out with performance than with words: “I’ve always tried to show my fellow players that I can be relied on with my performance. “Sometimes with a tackle or a slide.”

Asked about the outstanding form of his colleague Robert Lewandowski, the 1.95-meter man joked about himself: “I’m not as well-trained as Lewy, but I’m no fatso either. I’m just relatively stocky.”
