Robert Zulj on the future: “My advisor is in talks with several clubs”.

After a one-year loan from Union Berlin, Robert Zulj returns to TSG Hoffenheim for the time being. The Austrian still has a year’s contract there. Remaining is just as much an option as a transfer to a new association – including Union Berlin. The 27-year-old confirms this in an interview with the OÖN.

“There’s a way to stay here. But my advisor is also in talks with other associations. Among other things, Union”, Robert Zulj told the OÖN. His time at the 1st FC Union Berlin in the 2nd Bundesliga was extremely successful.

Above all, of course, was the promotion to the Bundesliga, which was made clear in the relegation against VfB Stuttgart. But the 27-year-old has also had a positive experience individually, was hardly injured and was able to prove himself as a regular in the offensive midfield, with four goals and seven templates.

His words for Union, especially its fans, are correspondingly positive: “After my difficult time in Hoffenheim, it was another really positive year in Berlin. Not only did it go very well in sporting terms, Union is generally a special club. Every home game at the Alte Försterei was a madness. The fans are a chapter in their own right.”

So the Welser-born does not lack a possible customer. For the Berliners, a fixed transfer is “within the power of imagination”, so you can see the quality for Germany’s top league.

But the midfielder hasn’t completely written off his time in Hoffenheim: “There’s a chance to stay here. I’m fit and healthy. The preparation is in full swing, the level in Hoffenheim is as always very good.”
