A megatransfer a la Leroy Sane is still to come, but according to the Spanish media the negotiations between Bayern Munich and another player are well advanced. As the sports daily Marca reported on Tuesday evening, the German record champion has already reached agreement with the Spanish U21 European champion Marc Roca.
The transfer of the 22-year-old central midfielder, however, is still hampered by the high demand to transfer Roca’s Espanyol Barcelona club. According to Marca, the Catalans are insisting on the 40 million Euro transfer stipulated in the contract until 2022.
Previously, FC Bayern had been left behind in their bid for Roca’s compatriot Rodrigo. The 23-year-old, who also lives in the midfield centre, moved from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City at the beginning of July for a fixed 70 million euros. The English champion also has a contract with Sane, Bavaria’s declared top transfer destination.
So far, the Munich team has signed the French World Champions Lucas Hernandez (80 million Euro transfer/Atletico Madrid) as well as Benjamin Pavard (35 million Euro/VfB Stuttgart) and attacking talent Jann-Fiete Arp (3 million Euro/Hamburger SV) for the new season. The squad currently consists of only 17 field players, coach Niko Kovac recently declared: “We need 19 already. ”
