Rebic apparently another topic for Bavaria

Published on

FC Bayern Munich apparently thinks again about a possible commitment of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ante Rebic due to a lack of alternatives. James Rodriguez could drag it to Paris Saint-Germain. Philipp Lahm can imagine a return to FC Bayern. Here you can find all news and rumours about the FCB.

According to SportBild, FC Bayern Munich has a new interest in Ante Rebic. The striker of Eintracht Frankfurt is supposed to be the declared wish transfer of coach Niko Kovac and, due to a lack of alternatives, is now back on the note of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Already in the last two transfer phases Rebic was traded at FC Bayern. The 25-year-old Croatian with ten goals in 35 games of the current season is not as effective as he was last season. His contract with Eintracht runs until 2022.

FC Bayern are apparently looking for a player who can not only fill in for Robert Lewandowski, but who could also take over the wing. The negotiations with Timo Werner and RB Leipzig have apparently reached a dead point. Ralf Rangnick recently even spoke of a possible whereabouts of the national player until 2020 in Leipzig. Nicolas Pepe from OSC Lille is no longer an issue.

James Rodriguez could move from FC Bayern Munich to Paris Saint-Germain via Real Madrid. According to Sport Bild, the Colombian is an issue for the French industry leader if Neymar leaves the club. The Brazilian is therefore available for around 350 million euros.

James, for whom the Bavarians still hold a purchase option, would first return to Real and then be transferred to Paris. The Munichers, in the person of Hasan Salihamidzic, had already ruled out drawing the option only to sell James profitably afterwards.

However, it does not seem impossible that James will remain in Munich. Those responsible recently stressed that they did not feel any time pressure and that they would continue to think about the possible purchase. Under Niko Kovac, the 27-year-old presented himself changeably and scored seven goals in 28 missions.

Philipp Lahm is still watching FC Bayern Munich after the end of his career. In the Sport Bild he stated that he could certainly imagine a return: “Sure, I am closely connected to the club through my biography. I don’t want to rule out the possibility that one day we’ll be working together again.”

For the time being, however, the former defender seeks distance. He also didn’t want to comment on Oliver Kahn’s commitment. But for Lahm, the question of the Bundesliga title is clear: “Bavaria will not let the championship be taken away and will take the lead. That’s through.”

Despite everything, Lahm can understand the ongoing discussion about coach Niko Kovac: “This is a typical Bavarian discussion. The team will become champions, are in the cup final, but the club has been eliminated in the eighth-finals of the Champions League – that hasn’t happened since 2011.”
