According to information from SOCCERSCORE and Goal, the change of Benito Raman from Fortuna Düsseldorf to FC Schalke 04, which has already been announced as fixed, is still not over yet. The picture had reported on an agreement between the two clubs late on Saturday evening.
According to the newspaper, the Fortuna and the Royal Blue had agreed on a transfer of about nine million euros plus bonus payments for Raman.
In return, Bernard Tekpetey, who last stormed Paderborn for SC Paderborn and returned to the royal blue for 2.5 million euros, will come to the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia for two years on loan.
At the request of SOCCERSCORE and Goal, however, sports director Lutz Pfannenstiel denied such an agreement. The interest of the royal blues in the 24-year-old Belgian has been established for some time. A few days ago, Düsseldorf’s head coach Friedhelm Funkel was already expecting the farewell of the ten-goal man who joined the Rhinelanders from Standard Liège in summer 2017.
“I think they’ll come to an agreement,” Funkel told the Express. Raman, who is still contractually bound to Fortuna until 2022, had hoped for the club’s concession in the negotiations with the king’s blues. “I think it would be fair of the club to let me go now,” he explained weeks ago, when the first rumours of a change began to appear.
