Fortuna Düsseldorf has officially announced that Markus Suttner is moving from the Premier League to the Bundesliga club. The Austrian is firmly committed and gets a contract for one year.

Already during the winter break the ex-Austrian was awarded to Düsseldorf, a permanent transfer seemed always probable.

Now it’s official. The 32-year-old gets a one-year contract and the number 29.

“I am very happy that it worked out with a firm change to Fortuna. I left the club this summer with the ulterior motive that this chapter is not yet over for me. Not only the last half year has shown me that Fortuna is on a very good way. We want to build on the good work we did in the second half of last season in the upcoming season,” said Suttner.

Sports Director Lutz Pfannenstiel is also delighted about “Sutti”: “Markus Suttner has already shown in the second half of the past season that he fits perfectly into our team, both in terms of sport and people. It is a great advantage that there will be no need for either side to get used to the new system, as everyone involved already knows and appreciates each other very well.

The former international will match Diego Contento and Georgios Saidas for a permanent spot.
