Bundesliga: No change for now: Martin Hinteregger returns to training at Augsburg

Martin Hinteregger’s seemingly fixed transfer away from FC Augsburg has not yet taken place. Eintracht Frankfurt continues to be interested, but the Augsburg team’s demands for a redemption are still too high for Adi Hütter’s team. That’s why Hinteregger returned to training his club for the time being.

After the heavy criticism of former Augsburg coach Manuel Baum, Martin Hinteregger had to look for a new club last season and found it with Adi Hütters Eintracht Frankfurt. The change of employer on loan should pay off in full.

The Austrian national player immediately became the boss in the defence of the Hessen and was no longer imaginable without him – ergo Frankfurt is currently doing everything in its power to secure the 26-year-old for the coming season.

Almost everything. Because the 13 million Euro fee for the central defender is probably too high. Eintracht offers a sum of around ten million euros.

Martin Hinteregger has now returned to training because there has been no agreement between FC Augsburg and another club for a transfer. For the time being, however, only slightly, as the broken ribs in the last international match do not allow any more.

Although the criticism at that time did not go down well with some of the other players, Manuel Baum is now history and criticism of him within the team has not been spared. So there is no reason to expect a bad mood within the Augsburg team. Nevertheless, all parties – Hinteregger himself, FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt – seem interested in a transfer.
